Meet  the  Teachers

Tina Summers
Director

Tina has been a teacher at PIV since 2004 and became the director in 2016. She combines her teaching experience with a business background in support of our child-centered philosophy. Tina's favorite book to read aloud (with a southern accent) is Epossumondas Saves the Day  by Coleen Salley.

Carrie Forleo
 Caterpillar Lead Teacher

Carrie has worked  at PIV since 1998, and believes that children learn best in a nurturing environment where they can explore, experiment, and be creative. She feels it's important to meet children where they are in their development, and provide opportunities to enhance growth and learning.  Carrie's favorite book to read aloud is Giraffes Can't Dance  by Giles Andreae.

Janet Smith-Hamele

Office Administrator

Janet has been keeping the PIV office running smoothly since 2011, maintaining registration records and tuition accounts. She is an extra pair of eyes and hands in any classroom or on the playground, and enjoys helping children select books from the library. If you have a question about PIV, Janet has the answer!

Dianne Smith
Dragonfly Lead Teacher

Dianne has 28+ years of preschool and kindergarten teaching experience in NH, MA and ME. She has seen over the years the importance of social and emotional development, hands-on experiences, and play as basic foundations for growth and learning. Dianne's favorite book to read aloud is Owl Babies, by Martin Waddell.

Heather Nowak
​Caterpillar Assistant Teacher

 Heather has worked with 3 and 4 year olds at PIV, and believes children learn best when they are having fun. She feels that each child learns differently, at their own pace, and appreciates the opportunity to help them. Heather's favorite book to read  aloud is Jamberry  by Bruce Degen.

Judy Leeds
​Bumblebee Lead Teacher

Judy has worked with preschool and kindergarten children in NH and MA. She believes that a child's play is their work, and that a play-based classroom environment offers a variety of activities to meet the needs of all learning styles. Judy's favorite book to read aloud is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  by Eric Carle.

Lindsy Faucher
​Salamander Lead Teacher

Lindsy has taught every age group during her years at PIV, and was excited to lead her own classroom in 2017-2018! She believes children learn best when they are actively engaged and having fun. Lindsy's favorite book to read aloud is Big Words for Little People by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Mattea Schevey
Bumblebee Lead Teacher

Mattea has been dedicated to early childhood education for over 10 years. She loves seeing life through the curious minds of children, and feels the preschool classroom is a great place to incorporate and encourage creativity. Mattea's favorite book to read aloud is Where the Wild Things Are  by Maurice Sendak.

Dakota Hamele
Dragonfly Lead Teacher

Dakota is eager to begin her teaching career at PIV where she has been a substitute and summer camp assistant, as well as a preschool student many years ago herself! She believes a happy teacher equals a happy student. Dakota’s favorite book to read aloud is The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown.
